The kids these days say #couplegoals to a quintessential-looking couple. From Beyoncé and Jay-Z to Michelle and Barack to other likeable couples on Instagram, social media users like seeing beautiful, happy couples, which has resulted in a ‘new’ genre of content creation, particularly on Instagram and YouTube.
Scattered posts with these kinds of pictures are seen on many of our favourite influencer's Instagram feeds, but some Insta-famous couples have taken it much further and created an 'in-community of property' of the couple aesthetic.
So when the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle are her hubby Prince Harry created a joint Instagram account the Insta community generously welcomed them with a record-breaking million following in less than six hours. Yes they are a royal couple but on Instagram they join the existing community of #couplegoals and couples with joint photo albums.

Couple's pictures are the aesthetic right now but family pictures that are also peaking – as seen on Kim Kardashian’s Instagram page.
It’s safe to say that the royals’ joint Instagram account will mainly be for royal duties but maybe we’ll see a few snapshots of Baby Sussex as well – and the aesthetic will be complete.
But before we jump the gun on the royal baby, there have been local and international celebrities and influencers who have long been populating the couple goals space. But first, the royals.
On 3 April Meghan and Harry launched their joint Instagram account with a gallery of images ending off with a picture of them holding hands on a balcony. According to the caption in their first post, they will be sharing their work, the causes they support, important announcements and will “shine a light on key issues”. In just over one day, these royals have amassed 3.3 million followers.

Before this royal couple joined the community there were many before them.
Most recently in South Africa we saw dancer Bontle Modiselle and her rapper-boyfriend Priddy Ugly creating their own joint Instagram account called Rick Jade. With their first post dated 23 January 2019, the couple already has more than 11 thousand followers.
Also in January, local rapper Nasty C and his girlfriend Sam started their joint account on Instagram called The Kids In School Thought We Were Crazy, or T.K.I.S.T.W.W.C in short.
YouTubers Sasha and George (aka SashSushi and Okay Wasabi) have been at it. Their first video together is dated 27 June 2017, now at more than 13 thousand subscribers the couple is still going strong with their content.
U.S. YouTubers Jamilla and Que are lifestyle vloggers with more than 23 000 subscribers and more than 10 000 followers on Instagram. They often post pictures of their family featuring their daughter Harper.
Often they go by Gold Juice and these young YouTubers are famous for the couple pranks. Olivia and Will boast more than 1.2 million subscribers on YouTube. Among food challenges and YouTube tag videos, this couple also has merch they sell under their Gold Juice brand.
Ebony and Denise – with their mini-me’s Olivia, Jayden and Lucas – are family and couple goals. Their Instagram account called Team2Moms has almost 70 000 followers and on YouTube they have more than 200 000 subscribers.
