Sexpo to host SA Pole Dancing Championships

The South African public has embraced this international craze, which is sweeping through fitness centres and bedrooms around the world.

From 2 to 5 October this year, Johannesburg’s annual Sexpo will play host to the South African Pole Dancing Championships at Gallagher Estate.

"Women are embracing their sexuality in this fun, cheeky and healthy sport. Pole dancing not only provides an excellent cardiovascular workout that also tones and shapes, but also gives women enhanced confidence, making them feel sexier and more sensual," says Julie Swart, Sexpo Project Manager and Pole Dance Instructor. "It has made even the shyest woman more self-assured, but it’s not as easy as it looks."

Ten SA lasses are set to compete in the finals for the coveted SA Pole Dancing Champion crown.

Miss Pole Dance UK, Tracey Simmonds, is flying out to South Africa to judge the championships. The athletic and beautiful performer has many titles under her belt and will also be performing on the main stage at Sexpo every day of the show, giving the local ladies (and guys) the chance to see the best that European pole dancing has to offer.

Other judges include sports commentator and radio shock jock Graham Joffe, as well as Sharon Gordon, owner of Lola Montez the sensuality store for women.

Ladies interested in entering the SA Pole Dancing Championships can get more information at www.sexpo.co.za or email polechamps@sexpo.co.za . The Sexpo takes place 2-5 October at Gallagher Estate, Johannesburg.
