Talk about a disaster.
Talk about a disaster.

Of all the things that could go wrong on your wedding day, this could possibly be the worst.Imagine planning your wedding for years. Making sure every single detail of the day is carefully catered to, taking the time to choose everything from bridesmaids to the song you’d do your first dance to. A lot of women start imagining and planning their weddings even before they meet a man to whom they will eventually say “I do” to.

Even though the flower arrangements, décor and venue are quite important to her, what most brides look forward to on the day, and no, it’s not the part where they get to say I do, is putting on that dress that you pictured yourself in since you were only a little girl.

Which is why what happened to this unfortunate bride is even more of a travesty.

According to Metro, a wedding planner took to Reddit to describe how a bride whose wedding he was organising, had decided to drink a detox shake a day before her big day to help her with bloating.

In a lengthy Reddit post, the planner explained that the bride had been wearing a large ball gown style dress complete with a fitted, bones strapless top, a shaper garment and hoops and slips.

He also explained that because of the difficulties she had putting the dress on, going to the bathroom would be off limits for the bride until it was time to take the dress off. His assistant was tasked with looking after the bride and ensuring she looked her best throughout the day.

He then explained that his assistant had later called him with an emergency - the bride had accidentally soiled her dress.

“The bride, it turns out, had been using some health shakes in an attempt to fix last minute bloating. This had mixed poorly with the cocktails from earlier. Not only had it been a rather profound accident, but the smell was unrivalled,” the planner explained.

The planner then described how attempts to wipe away the mess were completely futile.

Thereafter he explains how the bride still insisted on doing her first dance with her husband who was completely unaware of the disturbing twist of events. And just when the planner thought things couldn’t get worse… they actually do.

During their dance, a choreographed affair, as the groom spun his bride around, hand on her waist, he was squishing her waist trainer, causing more soiling.

The planner ends off this horror story by explaining how he finally got the weeping bride out of the soiled dress which he soaked in a basin in an attempt to save it.

Needless to say, it was a day the bride (and probably the groom and all the guests plus the wedding planner himself) will never forget.

He did also mention though, that pictures of the wedding appeared in a magazine and were absolutely stunning.
