Bridal gown designer, Moses Mkhatshwa from Pretoria is the founder of MX Creations. Moses is so excellent in his craft that he gained a lot of popularity when he designed his wife’s wedding dress when they got married in 2013.

When South Africans saw his wedding on popular wedding show, Our Perfect Wedding, they showered him with praises for his work. He has once again wowed with his part in the #KFCWedding.

Moses says he was contacted by a friend who saw the couple trending on Twitter and suggested that he gets involved as he is known to give back to the community.

Moses then went on Twitter and tweeted to pledge to design the bridesmaids’ dresses, however, because he doesn’t have a huge following, he asked his client and friend, South African actress Tsholofelo Matshaba to retweet his pledge.

Upon getting traction from the actress’ tweet, Moses was contacted by the organiser of the wedding a week before the wedding to design the bridesmaids' dresses.

"I met up with the #KFCBride, Nonhlanhla and her bridesmaids and got a brief of what they would like. They gave me the colour, neckline and length of the dresses, and I came up with a design," says Moses.

Unfortunately, at the time his team was away on holiday and this left them with only three days to make the dresses. They got to work once everyone was back at work — a day earlier than planned.

"I chose a design that is accommodating to the shapes of all five bridesmaids, which is the A-line dress silhouette. I used soft satin as an overlay and 3D lace on top to complete the dresses. With the amount of time that we had available to design the dresses, these materials worked best and provided the right level of elegance," says Moses, adding that he is very pleased with the final product.

Speaking fondly of #KFCBride, Nonhlanhla, Moses says she is one of the sweetest brides he has worked with and deserved her dream wedding. He is very excited about having been part of the wedding and "would do it again in a heartbeat".

Moses' overall highlight of being part of the wedding was seeing Nonhlanhla and Hector (the groom) happy and full of love. When he visited their home, it was warm, welcoming and the hospitality was amazing, he shares.

"For people who were under so much spotlight and pressure, they kept to who they truly are," he says.
