The 24-year-old actress recently appeared on telenovela Ring of Lies as Slindile. We find out what’s next for her.
We fell in love with her as Angela Mogale on Generations and she also starred in the movie Beat the Drum. Seventeen years later, she’s still slaying and enjoys motherhood.
How are you finding motherhood?It’s a wonderful experience – my daughter, Gabriela, is turning two in November. My family have been so supportive and hands-on from day one, which makes the journey even more enjoyable.
Since your departure on Generations what have you been up to?I haven’t disappeared completely. I have been working on many projects and they are only coming out now.
What lessons have you learnt while working in the entertainment industry?I have learnt to stay humble; working with other people and being a a team player is essential. I’ve also learnt to not let other people walk all over me and assume that I will just accept things as they are. I’m an artist, and I take my craft seriously.
What’s next for Dineo?I’m excited about my new role on Gold Diggers. I’ll play the role of Emily. She’s a good girl with a bit of a rough edge because her father and brother have a history of gangsterism. One thing I love about what I do is that I get to play different characters. I never want to get to a point were I’m monotonous.
The last time I was in a movie, I was 9-years-old. It was an international production called Beat the Drum. I would love to star in a movie again. I’m so hungry for it right now, but I think everything comes with time.
How have you overcome challenges in the industry?I don’t pay attention to frivolous things; social media is something that I do every now and again, and I’m rarely seen on the party scene. I’m okay with living under the radar. I live a simple life, and that makes it easier to deal with any challenges.
