3 ways to support a loved one during their weight loss journey

accreditation

Figuring out how best to support a loved one lose weight, whether they’re a family member or a friend can be challenging. You want to be encouraging without being overbearing, it’s hard to get a sibling to lose weight or your child for that matter. Renny Letswalo, non-executive chairperson of Cambridge Weight Plan gives us some advice on how to best support them during their journey.

-          It always has to be their personal decision because despite what you say, if they are not ready, they will reject all the messages you bring and may feel pressurised or unloved.

-          Give them the space to experience the journey on their own and just support and continue to motivate them.

-          Be sensitive and thoughtful with your words and your approach.
