Getting the chance to travel and explore the world is an incredible experience — but for most of us, the ultimate dream is doing all of it for free, while taking Insta-worthy pictures and videos.

So, if you feel like you’re stuck in a rut in your daily life or you’re yearning for something exciting and different, The Great Travel Experiment launched by travel company Busabout is for you, reports Thrillist

This travel agency is offering six people the adventure of a lifetime; to travel across a continent on an all-expenses-paid trip worth £8000 (around R150 000).

There’s only one catch; you have to be prepared to leave your holiday experience in the hands of the company's 50 000 Instagram followers.

You’ll be required to constantly update your travels on social media, and leave the holiday activity decisions up to Busabout’s audience, who will vote through interactive Instagram story polls.

From skydiving, white water rafting in Lauterbrunnen or swallowing a deep-fried insect in Bangkok, you have to be brave and ready to embrace spontaneity.

The six social media content creators need to be people who enjoy sharing their experiences and love documenting their trips in front of a camera. They also need to be videographers with impressive editing skills.

All six successful content creators will be paid £200 (close to R4 000) each week on top of the all-expenses paid trip, and honestly, it sounds like a dream.

The destinations for The Great Travel Experience include Asia, Europe, and the U.S.

The trip will kick off with a six-week journey through Southeast Asia, followed by a six-week coast-to-coast adventure in the U.S. that will go from California to bucket-list worthy cities like Paris, Rome and Budapest.

To apply for this exciting opportunity simply decide whether you’re an Instagram storyteller or videographer, suggest a preferred destination and record a 60-second video showcasing the best bits of your own hometown.

You can apply together with a fellow creative genius, or sign up solo and make friends on the road.

"Be creative as possible, but remember the main thing we're looking for someone who can tell a great story," the company advises.

We think this 11-week job would definitely quench one's wanderlust.

Videos can be submitted on the Busabout website and entries are open until 8 April 2019.
