Musgrave Crafted Spirits and Doppio Zero are hosting Musgrave Gin events in all Doppio restaurants across the country.

According to Musgrave global director Katie Coetzee, the award-winning gin brand is ranked among the country’s top five premium gin brands.

Coetzee says the brand is doing away with convention associated with marketing brands to consumers.

Last Friday, Musgrave Gin and Doppio Zero kicked off one of the first gin-focused events over perfect serves with Fitch & Leedes tonic, alongside meaty and vegan canapés, to a room full of influencers at the Blue Hills Doppio Zero outlet.

The room was filled with bottles of gin and tables were decorated with botanicals echoing the gin’s flavour profiles, fresh flowers and bright lights, with live deejays playing deep House vinyls to usher the youth into the weekend and give enough content for influencers to channel their in-demand skills.

Coetzee said Musgrave Gin wants everyone to join in the encounters.

“Musgrave Gin is a booming global brand and this is a time to closely network with new and loyal connections in the media, content, influencer and events spaces.

“We expect everybody to bring a new face to the table and for everybody to explore new collaborations and journeys. We want personal encounters and the best time is over gin and tonic.

“Our current big focus nationally is in the main market and we’re partnering with key nightclubs, shisa nyamas and taverns to educate and delight consumers with new and interesting ways to enjoy gin.

“[We also want to] introduce our new member of the Musgrave Spirits family – Musgrave Copper, which is a range of flavour-infused brandies that will confidently walk where Cognac has feared to tread.

“It’s a strategic move for us as the gin market is booming. There were around 20 gins on the market when we established our brand in 2015, with hundreds more having launched since.”

To attend events by the Musgrave Insiders Club, gin lovers are encouraged to head to the Musgrave Spirits Facebook page and join the club to receive an instant invitation to the next event in their area

The DA recently released a controversial election ad in which the national flag is consumed by flames. Many took to social media to criticise the party, with former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela expressing disappointment, saying the DA could have used other ways to send its message. Do you think the DA took it too far with this ad?
