Titled Native Life in the Third Millennium, the collection sees a poet, philosopher and programmer wrestle with systemic oppressions. All the while they navigate anomie, alienation and flashes of abundance in millennial Africa. In intertwining poetry and prose, the lockdown-written chapbook is what international literary & film agency Pontas Agency has referred to as “another genre-bending, inventive and pulsive literary work by one of Africa’s most exciting young voices.”
Native Life in the Third Millennium will be available from independent bookstores nationwide and online, starting 20 December 2020. The collection costs R100 and only 100 copies will be made available. Proceeds for the limited edition, numbered and signed copies will go toward organisations advocating for racial justice and the conservation of the earth.
