  • A wedding consists of a few items that must just be there even if there's no food or decor: the bride and groom, the rings and the officiant, everything else is frills.
  • So what happens when the rings go missing? Do you tell the bride?
  • Quora user, Mark Kelly, shared that in one instance, the bride was not told and found out at the altar. Here's what happened.

Mark tells how a beautiful riverside ceremony turned into a nightmare when the rings could not be found. While his wife was taking pictures at the ceremony, the best man had approached her and told her something.

"After a few moments, she comes up to me and says that he told her he doesn't have the rings! They are still up in the house somewhere. I grab the coordinator and tell her and we go search frantically for the rings, knowing we only have minutes to find them. We don't find them," says Mark.

There was no time to tell the bride as they had been searching frantically for the rings and the ceremony was now in progress.

The trio (Mark, his wife and the coordinator) made a plan to put gold gum-ball machine rings in the ring bearer's pillow.

"We ended up grabbing the ring bearer's pillow and untie the cheap gum-ball machine gold rings from it and give those to the best man," Mark says.

"So they are obviously going to notice the difference, and we weren't sure what the reaction was going to be."

When the time came to exchange rings, the bride was very puzzled but they quickly informed her what had happened and she played along.

In the end, the real rings were found after the ceremony and the day went on without any further glitches.
