'I don't care what people think': Woman marries her schoolteacher despite a 25-year age gap

We've been seeing age-gap couples share their love story without feeling the need to hide. Despite the judgment and the dirty looks, this couple, who share a 25-year gap, have been making headlines not only for their age difference but for the fact that one taught the other in high school.

The 57-year-old Michelle Foster and 32-year-old Monica Foster started their relationship in August 2021, when they would meet up and connect platonically. Monica, at the time, had just come out as gay, and after she completed high school, she searched for Michelle on Facebook in April 2020. "We were both in really dark places at that time. Finding someone you can relate to and be vulnerable with felt safe." In May 2022, the pair decided to end their respective relationships to pursue a relationship with each other. Michelle filed for divorce.

By spring that year, the couple got engaged, and they both proposed to each other at different times. "As we grew close, I was worried about the age gap and I was worried about how we first met, but I had to let it all go," Michelle said. This year, the couple tied the knot at a beachfront in June. "Our wedding day was so significant to me. I don't care what people think because they're not living my life; I am," Monica added. Monica is also looking forward to moving in with Michelle along with her children.
