  • Yolanda says she did not mean what she said and had to learn why the word is offensive.
  • She intends to write a book and have a reality show to give her supporters more insight into her life.
  • With the finale taking place on Sunday, 31 March, Yolanda wishes to see Makhekhe win the R2 million prize.

Big Brother Mzansi and Multichoice reaffirmed that they do not take lightly to offensive behaviour when they disqualified Eulanda ‘Yolanda’ Monyai after she had threatened to “molest” a fellow housemate.

Yolanda believes this was a mistake and misunderstanding, and she has opened up as to how she did not fully understand the implications of her actions.

“I didn’t really know what I was saying fully so I wouldn’t say it was a fair punishment,” Yolanda stated as she believes her disqualification was an exaggerated punishment because she was not fully aware that the word she used is associated with sexual harassment.

Yolanda says that when she was being investigated, they had to repeatedly explain what the word meant.

“I don’t think I can fix the situation myself either than me moving on and working [on myself] because I can’t go and undo what I’ve done. You can't fix that because someone else is living that reality,” she stated, explaining how she now understands the implications of her statement and how offensive and triggering it might have been to people who have encountered sexual harassment.

She says she has learned from her mistake, and she promises to never do it again.

When Yolanda analysed this situation, she made sure that she distanced herself from what people had to say because she knew that there would be positive and negative comments.

“I knew there would be positive and negative [comments] and I didn’t want to focus and dwell on that. I just learned what the word means and apologised on that,” she explains.

Yolanda believes that she would have won this season of Big Brother Mzansi if it were not for her disqualification. “Yeah definitely, I was the winner!” she said confidently.

But Yolanda is not letting this disqualification stop her from achieving her dreams.

She promises to work hard and earn the R2 million that she had intended to win so that she can build a beautiful house for her mom.

“Because of everything that I’ve seen that she’s been through, for me this was the time to give her the life that I feel she deserves,” Yolanda said in an emotional tone.

Moving forward, Yolanda intends to write a book about herself because she has witnessed how many people are fond of her. She says, “I want them to know me on a personal level. So, I am going to give them me in detail.”

Apart from writing a book, Yolanda also intends to create more content for her YouTube channel, open an online store, and continue modeling.

But that’s not all, she would also like to have her own reality show which she boldly believes will be a sensation. “I know that it is going to be massive!” she affirmed.

This season of Big Brother Mzansi comes to an end on Sunday, 31 March 2024, and Yolanda is routing for Tshepo 'Makhekhe' Tau to win.
