So, our stunning Melinda Bam has revealed her key outfits for the Miss Universe pageant, and we’re in two minds about it.
On the one hand there’s her national gown ,which is supposed to represent her country and show people what South Africa is all about.
This one, which is supposed to be more like a costume, we sort of get. It was designed by Go Wild designs and symbolises our country’s mineral wealth of gold, silver, platinum, diamonds and charcoal.
But then there’s her evening gown… and this is where she falls off the wagon.
The ghastly green mermaid design with Swarovski crystal embellishments looks more like something from a Brakpan Matric Farewell than the gown of a future Miss Universe. And the hectic amount of boobage she’s showing isn’t flattering, at all.
Apparently the colour was supposed to compliment Melinda’s skin tone and eyes.
Either way, we hope she does really well at the pageant. Who knows, perhaps the international fashion community will see it as “South African chic”?
What do you think of her gowns.
