There is no age limit to beauty. Each season of life brings about an opportunity to reinvent your look.

Makeup tips for skin that is maturing

- Skin care

When it comes to makeup for your skin as you get older, a good skincare regime is key. Remember, skin always comes first!

The better you take care of skin the less makeup you will need.

Obviously you would need a face wash to exfoliate any dead skin, you will need to tone and a good moisturiser to hydrate your skin.

- Primer

No moisturiser is going to make your wrinkles or fine lines disappear but applying a primer such as Optiphi before putting on foundation and concealer will fill in those  fine lines making it a little less visible and also allow for a smooth surface to apply your makeup on.

- Foundation

Choose the right foundation for your skin tone.

Your skin tone changes seasonally. In winter your skin might be a little lighter than in summer.

Alternating between these 2 foundations seasonally work best for this.

- Lips

As you get older your lips tend to lose its fullness. To plump them up use a lip gloss with a lip plumper.

Stay away from darker colours as it tends to age you. Rosy reds and pinks look best.

Lining the lip and also filling it in with lip pencil is awesome as it prevent our lipstick from bleeding out and helps it stay on for longer.

- Eyes

Use a pencil to line your eyes and smudge into the eyes to create definition instead of liquid or gel liners which can be harsh on ageing eyes.

Your eyes should be the focal point of your application to distract from any fine lines there might be.

Enhance your eyes colour with eye shadow that makes your eyes pop.

For blue eyes use :  gold, rust and red brown colours.

For green eyes use: soft pink, mauve and maroon colours.

For brown eyes use: dull turquoise, navy blue and charcoal colours.

For hazel eyes use: pink, rose and dark purple colours.

For an added pop to your eyes, curl your lashes and apply a double layer of mascara. It also helps to open your eyes.

As you get older, your eyelids tend to droop, be careful not to apply too much of dark eye shadow in the crease, it will emphasize the droopiness.  If you apply to much eye shadow, the particles may all into your creases and make your wrinkles look deeper.

- Cheeks

Add a flush of colour to your cheeks by using blush but be careful not to overdo the blush.

Highlighter on the cheek is awesome to enhance the arrears you want however on skin that has wrinkles, it can make those lines more visible. Try using a mineralise blush as a highlighter so there is not too much of shimmer.

- Contouring

Contouring a hot new trend made famous by Kim Kardashian.

Contouring can be done using foundations or concealers.

Use lighter colours to highlight your best features & the darker colours to shadow the parts you want to conceal like that double chin.

Make sure when doing contouring to blend blend blend!

- Tips

Remember to apply powder after you have applied foundation & concealer to set everything in place and to prevent it from creasing into any fine lines there might be.

Apply sunscreen before your foundation has it helps to prevent wrinkles.

Everything that you apply on your face must be blended to perfection to prevent streaks.

Define your brows using eye shadow to fill it in. Brows define & frame your face so getting your done professionally is a good way to start.
