A bride-to-be called off her engagement a week before the big day and donated her dream venue to a couple she’d never met.
Kolbie Sanders from Texas in the US decided to call off her wedding to her partner of four years, Skylar Cotton, after deciding she wasn’t ready to say “I do”, Honey Nine reports.
“There was no scandal,” Kolbie said. “We were together for four years and engaged for one and a half years but we grew apart.
“I woke up one day and realised I didn’t want to marry him. We’d both lost passion for each other.

“It was short notice but you can’t get married if you feel it won’t work out in the long run.”
The 24-year-old then took to Facebook to offer her venue worth $3 500 (R50 750) to strangers.
“With my engagement ending I’ve come to find tremendous peace in knowing I did the right thing for the both of us,” Kolbie wrote.
“With that being said, now I want to do the right thing by others and let some good come out of this decision.
“This is a long shot but since my wedding venue has been paid for in full already I’ve decided to donate my venue valued at $3 500 to a couple to use for their wedding day!
“The catch: I have 24 hours to find the couple and they’d need to be ready to get married on the date my venue is booked, which is this Saturday, 20 October!”
After being inundated with messages from hundreds of brides and grooms-to-be, Kolbie chose to donate her venue to Halie Hipsher (22) and Matt Jones after a lucky draw, NY Daily News reports.
“When I chose her name I was really excited,” she said. “I immediately remembered her story, so I was really happy for her.”
Halie’s story stood out for Kolbe because her grandfather Edwin Truett Hipsher (81) is suffering from pancreatic cancer and doesn’t have long to live, Washington Post reports.
Kolbie hopes her act of kindness will inspire others to do the same.
“This was natural to me. I didn’t have to think about it,” Kolbie said.
“I’m really glad she won. Her reaction definitely made all of this worth it.”
