Whether she's rocking braids, a wig, a weave or a pixie cut – she always has a good hair day.

Now Beyoncé (42) has ventured into the beauty industry with the launch of her haircare brand, Cécred.

“I have many beautiful memories attached to my hair,” she told Essence magazine.

“From spending my childhood in my mother’s salon to my father applying oil on my scalp to treat my psoriasis – these moments have been sacred to me.”

Beyoncé, who was diagnosed with psoriasis (a skin disease that causes a rash with itchy, scaly patches) at a young age, says her dad, Mathew Knowles, helped her manage it by rubbing oil into her hair.

She also noted how a good hair day can boost confidence and self-esteem.

“I watched my mother nurture and heal those women in her salon. The conversations and debates in the salons and barbershops create a sense of community for the people who look to it as a retreat from their everyday lives," she said.

“It’s the most consistent community gathering we have. It’s so important that it’s a sanctuary," she added.

The Texas Hold 'Em singer says the name Cécred is a combination of the last two letters of her name, Cé, and the the word sacred.

The collection consists of eight products – a clarifying shampoo and scalp scrub, hydrating shampoo, a deep conditioner, treatment mask, a fermented rice-and-rose-protein ritual, a moisture-sealing lotion and a nourishing hair oil – and is suitable for all hair textures.

Bey also reflected on how chopping her long locks into a pixie cut in 2013 changed her life.

“I remember the day I decided to just cut all my hair off," she recalled. "I didn’t have a particular style in mind.”

“I was a new mother, and something about the liberation of becoming a mother made me want to just shed all of that," she continued.

“And after that, I became super brave. It was the first step to many more audacious decisions I made in my life and my career that have led to who I am now."
