Our editor, Lili Radloff, had the whole Tracy Gold makeover experience.
Lili wanted a fun, feminine and easy-to-wear look. Together with her team of professionals, Tracy set out to give Lili a fabulous pampering day while giving her the skills to recreate her new look every day.
To match her soft feminine look, Paula Janse van Rensburg of Maverick Hair in Seapoint, gave her a treatment and a cut that complemented her hair type and face shape.
Because Lili has a fine hair type, Paula gave her a four phase treatment using Joico products: clarifying shampoo; cuticle sealer; deep penetrating reconstruction (by K-Pak); moisture intense hydrator (also by K-Pak).
She also taught her a few easy-to-do styling options so she could adjust her look according to her mood and occasion:
1. Lili's hair before the makeover.
2. Out of the shower hair (easy maintenance).
All you need is shine spray and hairspray. Give your hair a gentle hairdry on low heat. Then (optional), lift and blow your roots for more body.
3. Fancy day 'do (slightly dressier).
You will basically be twisting your hair around the brush (or even your fingers) to give it a gentle wave. If your hair type is coarser than Lili's you will have tigher curls. Blow dry first at a higher heat, then switch to a cool heat to set the look.
4. The ultimate evening updo:
Make a side ponytail and wrap your own hair around the base (instead of using an elastic.) All you need is bobby pins.
5. Then, for an even fancier style, tie the loose ends up in a messy bun and style with additional pins.
