You will need
- offcut pine plank (about 30cm wide)
- turned pine foot (about 13cm tall)
- compass
- G-clamps
- jigsaw
- sandpaper
- Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Clear Matt
- Woodoc Colours Ebony
- mixing container
- mixing stick
- paintbrushes
- drill with pilot bit and 8mm wood bit
- screw
- fine sandpaper
- wood glue
- wood filler
Here's how...
1 Use the compass to draw a circle with a diameter of about 30cm on the pine plank.
2 Clamp the timber to your work surface and cut the circle out with a jigsaw.
3 Sand the edges smooth.
4 Decant about 75ml of Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Clear Matt into a mixing container. Add Woodoc Colours Ebony and mix well.
5 Apply 2 coats of the mixture you made in step 4 to the turned wooden leg, letting the sealer dry between coats. Sand lightly with fine sandpaper once the first coat has dried.
6 Drill a pilot hole in the centre of the wooden circle and then a sinkhole with an 8mm drill bit. Screw the screw in halfway.
7 Apply wood glue to the top of the foot.
8 Position the wooden circle on the painted leg; let the screw guide you in locating the centre. Screw it in position.
9 Fill the hole with wood filler, let it dry and sand smooth.
10 Apply 2 coats of Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Clear Matt to the wooden circle, letting the sealer dry between coats. Lightly sand after the first coat.
