Sheldon has brought a whole new meaning to haircuts and with that said we got to experience the exclusive haircut service in the Legends luxury bus. Here’s what he had to say about his business.
What inspired the idea behind Legends barber?
I owned my very first pair of hair clippers at a very young age, so all I ever wanted to do as a kid was to cut hair.
Why expand your services to a luxury barber bus?
I saw a gap in the market. Before I could open any of my salons I would travel in my van to go cut some of my customers. So, as my brand grew so did my clientele. I would cut my customer’s hair in awkward places like the kitchen or in their bedrooms, which was not ideal for both parties. That is when the idea of the luxury bus came about.
What kind of service can one expect to get in your luxury bus?
The luxury bus is one convenient service that comes straight to your doorstep, regardless of where you are. While getting your haircut of choice you get to enjoy drinks from the wide variety they have, listen to your music of choice and enjoy great conversations with your barber.
The luxury bus isn’t only limited to haircuts, it also comes with your very own beautician who takes care of all your beauty needs, be it a mani or pedi.
Who makes up the bulk of your clientele for the luxury bus?
Most of my celebrity customers prefer that we cut their hair in their own homes, so I would say the bus is a favorite amongst my celebrity customers.
Which celebrities have you worked with?
I’ve worked with the likes of Cassper Nyovest, Lootlove, Nast C, Masechaba Ndlovu, Riky Rick and more.
Would you say you’ve seen a growth in women cutting their hair?
Definitely, more women are now open to the idea of rocking trendy and unique haircuts. Currently women make up 30% of our clientele and I see it rapidly growing, as you know people, mostly women don’t trust easily when it comes to their hair.
How far have you travelled for your services?
For now I’d say Rusternburg. In addition to that our customers are very loyal to legends barber in such a way that they don’t mind traveling many kilometers to reach our branches.
How many people have you employed so far?
Currently we’re sitting at over 50 employees in 6 of our branches based in Eldorado park, Florida, Soweto, Newtown, Hatfield, and Durban. Before hiring any of our stuff we ensure that they go through extensive training.
What does the future hold for Sheldon and Legends Barber?
