Beyoncé Mass - the craziest things fans have done to 'worship' their fave celebs

accreditation

Imagine going to Sunday church service and belting out your favourite Beyoncé songs - from Survivor to her more recent songs such as Freedom. Well this was a reality for the Beyhive in San Franscisco, California.

The Beyoncé Mass at the Grace Cathedral Church run by Reverend Jude Harmon and Reverend Yolanda Norton gave people the opportunity to worship in a way that would make anyone that was part of the Beyhive ecstatic.

Before you think that that Beyoncé Mass was about praising the Queen Bey herself, rest assured that the mass was rather about "sing[ing] her body of work to inspire people to attend service, worship the Lord, and empower themselves".

According to Broadly, the service was held on the 25th of April and focused on empowering women of colour and other minority communities by bringing pop music and religious messaging together but that does not mean that it was limited to them only - everyone was welcome.

Reverend Jude Harmon says that, “The church hasn’t been the best about lifting up those voices,” he says. “Honestly, I think Beyoncé is a better theologian than many of the pastors and priests in our church today."

And on what people may think of her as a minister who uses pop culture music in the church, Revered Yolanda Norton says, "I am unapologetically a minister of the Gospel, I am unapologetically a biblical scholar, and I am unapologetically a Beyoncé fan—and I don’t feel like I need to apologise for any of that."

Some people seem to go all out for their favourite celebrities so we found the craziest things fans have done for the faves.

Brace yourself - some of it is not very pretty:

1. Taylor Swift corn maze

In 2015, Jeff and Teresa Greenwood built the labyrinthine tribute outside their house on the family-run Summers Farm for an upcoming annual fall festival. Jeff spoke to Rolling Stone to explain the tribute saying that he is not a die-hard fan but has always been amazed by Taylor Swift's story and thinks she's amazing.

Besides this being over the top and time consuming - it is showcases a ridiculous amount of talent and dedication.

2. Jared Leto's severed ear

In 2013 Jared Leto received a gift that was rather unusual - an ear. And if that was not creepy enough the ear came with a note that said "Are you listening?"

The singer later revealed on a British radio station Xfm that he poked holes into the ear and turned it into a necklace.

3. Marrying Robert Pattinson's cardboard cut

This seems rather trendy for fans to do. A Twilight fan named Lauren Adkins married a cardboard cutout of Robert Pattinson in Las Vegas. Lauren told Mirror.uk hat a friend gave her the idea to marry the cutout

She says, "A friend who thought I was going mad said one night: ‘If you love him so much why don’t you marry him?’ Her words rang in my ears. She was right. Why didn’t I?"

Her wedding cost her over R30 000 but she did not care. She was marrying the man of her dreams.
