Meghan Markle is set to become the latest member of the British Royal Family this Saturday, 19 May when she marries Prince Harry in what we’re sure will be a beautiful ceremony.

The former Suits actress’ life has already changed so much since she started dating Harry (and even more so after the engagement), but it’s set to change drastically after she says “I do”.

Meghan has already had to quit her job as an actress, shut down her lifestyle blog, The Tig, shut down her personal Instagram account, be baptised in the Church of England and give up any hopes of having a moderately quiet life for someone who’s on TV.

Here’s how her life will change even more after this coming weekend:

She’ll have to change her style

While Meghan never struck as us as a fashion risk taker by wearing daring ensembles and showing lots of skin, she wasn’t exactly dressing to the royal dress code. Grant Harrold, former butler to Prince Harry, told Sky News "royal ladies do have their own styles as our Queen and Duchess of Cambridge have shown us over the years. Meghan will have her own style but it will be in keeping with royal dress codes, so we won't see her wearing miniskirts or tights or nail varnish with glitter on them."

She’ll be scrutinised for everything she does

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams recently told Sky News, "To some extent she will be used to this, but the exposure she had for Suits and her impressive online presence with The Tig and social media will be nothing compared to the enormous press interest when she is part of the Windsors.” Meghan will be the new darling of the British press who go gaga over anything royal and she will be scrutinised for everything from the way she wears her hair to what she might say.

No more social media and no selfies

Meghan used to be big on Instagram, posting selfies and pictures of her travels and her dogs, etc., but now that she’s a royal all that stops. She’s also not allowed to take selfies with fans or sign autographs for fear of someone forging her signature.

She’ll have to get used to walking behind Kate

According to, the royal family always walks in order of who’s next in line to the throne. Prince Harry is sixth in line so he and Meghan will have to walk behind Prince William and Duchess Kate who are behind Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla. They all walk behind Prince Philip, and Queen Elizabeth II is out in front.

She’ll never be able to go out alone again

Now that she’s joining one of the most famous families in the world, she can no longer go anywhere without some sort of security detail around her. No more jogs alone in the park or walking the dog on your own.

No more PDAs with Harry

While they’ve been engaged, the pair have seen holding hands and being affectionate with one another in public, but that will probably change once they’re married. PDAs are seen as “uncouth” according to The Sun, so royals don’t really show affection to their partners when they are on official business.
