A young woman was left confused dumped for wearing makeup

That is according to this guy.

A young woman was left confused and hurt after a guy she'd been seeing for a very short period of time accused her of catfishing him and other men after he'd seen her without make up on.

The beautiful young woman who suffers from acne, took to Reddit to get the opinion of others about whether they thought that this guy actually had a leg to stand on by dumping her for what he called 'catfishing' and misleading men.

“He told me that I lead him on and that I’m catfishing guys by putting makeup on,” she wrote in her post on her since deleted Reddit account.

The two had previously been on five dates, all on which she wore makeup to cover her acne. On the sixth date which was a camping trip, the young woman didn't feel the need to wear makeup.

She also didn't expect to be told that she was a catfish.

According to her, the guy suddenly was looking at her differently for the entire duration of their trip.

“At first, he didn’t say anything, just looked at me a bit weird,” she said in her post. “When we were alone, he just told me that he didn’t know I had acne like that. “After that, he’s been acting distant the whole trip.” she continued.

When the now uncomfortable trip was finally over, the guy called their new found relationship off, because according to him, she'd been catfishing him by hiding her acne with makeup.

Naturally she was  confused by the whole thing because surely a grown man can accept something like acne, if not that, at least walk away decently without name calling and making someone feel bad about themselves.

Reddit users chimed in with their opinions, most of them calling him out and telling the young woman that she is better off without someone as shallow as this guy.

This user wrote, "You’re definitely not catfishing anyone by wearing makeup. I mean acne isn’t a huge deal for normal people, potential boyfriend sounds like a really shallow guy to break up over something like that."

While another had this to say, "This. If you get with someone and expect them to never have a blemish or some pimples, you have unrealistic expectations and are asking to be let down forever."

Despite being slightly disappointed, the unnamed young woman said that she isn't all too broken apart and has probably "dodged a bullet" by not ending up with this guy.

“I didn’t feel like I’ve done something inherently wrong… but at the same time, it haunts me that he thinks I’m catfishing people and I wonder if anyone else feels the same way.”

According to the thousands of comments on her post, no one agreed that this could be called catfishing, and neither do we.
