If there’s one thing 2020 has taught us, it’s the value of pocket-sized devices that can wear as many hats as we needed to during the early months of 2020.

We’ve become home-school teachers, work from home jugglers, and social distance connectors, became reliant on our devices to get us through it all. From depending on battery lives, speed, and super storage, we need a phone that won’t let us down.

But Chinese tech giant HUAWEI has heard the call for a device that can do it all with the release of their fresh new P Smart 2021.

Here are five ways the P Smart 2021 is designed to be a jack of all trades:

It brings the power

The P Smart 2021 comes in hot with a 5000 mAh battery – keeping your device powered for hours while in use. The phone is also equipped with 22.5W HUAWEI SuperCharge – allowing you to simply charge up your device for just 10 minutes to sustain 2 hours of video playback time from it. And to ensure you don’t lose power on the go, the device deal comes with a gracious free 10 000 mAh power bank as well!

When juggling work and personal life, you’re likely running several apps on your device at once. Fret not, however, as the P Smart 2021 is equipped with a Kirin 710A with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM, which allows multiple apps to run smoothly at the same time.

It can store all your needs and more

With an impressive built-in memory that stretches up to 128GB, the device is sure to comfortably house all your memories and work notes too. If you find you need an extra boost, the P Smart 2021 is able to extend storage to 512GB with an external memory card and features an additional 15GB of cloud storage – allowing you to manage and archive your moments accordingly.

It doesn’t skimp on camera quality

One would think that with all these incredible features, the camera quality took a shot, but you’d be mistaken. The P Smart 2021 follows in the phone-photography-frontrunner predecessors with its immaculate quad-lens AI camera. With a crisp 48MP Main Camera, an 8MP 120° Ultra-Wide-Angle Camera, a 2MP Macro Camera, and a 2MP Depth Camera – it’s a seamless experience taking dazzling and high-quality photos and videos with a tap of your screen.

The P Smart 2021, like its predecessors, features HUAWEI’s magical night mode feature – allowing you to get vibrant and clear images even in low light or night settings. The Ultra-Wide-Angle lens gives you more to take in while the Macro lens gets you closer to capture intricate details otherwise overlooked. And the Depth lens allows you to play with focus and get artsy and moody shots to grace your social media feed. Taking it up a notch, the front of the device is fitted with an 8MP selfie camera – making your selfie game a breeze.

The design is sleek and chic

And ensuring that all of these impressive specs look appealing to buy at face value, the design of the P Smart 2021 is clean, sleek, offers a dazzling and crisp 6.67” full-view display that boasts a resolution of 2400 x 1080, FHD+ that can display clear and crisp picture detail with 394 PPI. This display makes browsing photo gallery, watching movies, reading online magazines and more a seamless experience. Given its high screen-to-body ratio, you get an almost borderless viewing experience.

And a display that big can be overwhelming in low light situations, which is why HUAWEI includes their ‘Eye Comfort’ mode for those working and browsing their devices at night or for long periods – reducing the sleep-inhibiting effects of blue light.

The smartphone also looks to elevate fashion in the tech world by drawing inspiration directly from nature for their range’s colour palette. The P Smart 2021 is introducing three eye-catching colour variants: Crush Green, Blush Gold and Midnight Black. Another exciting feature being added to improve user experience and quick accessibility to your phone is the incorporation of the fingerprint ID mounted onto the side of the device rather than the screen itself – avoiding screen finger confusion that commonly happens on touchscreen smartphones.

It puts the smart in smartphone

And, of course, the P Smart 2021 comes kitted out with an exciting HUAWEI software update – Smart Life with EMUI 10.1. This update features their recent video calling app MeeTime, quick knuckle gestures for screenshots, multi-window capabilities to smoothen your multitasking experience, and a smart collage feature making photo collages quick and easy to create and share.

I know you might be wondering what the price for such a snazzy device would be, but it’s completely budget-friendly at the humble cost of R5999! The device launched on 7 November and you can get yours at your local Vodacom, CellC and HUAWEI stores.
