Tiny bubbles - so divine!

In her weekly newsletter, Women24 editor Lili Radloff shared with us some of her Pet hates and small pleasures. We asked our readers to share some of their likes and dislikes, this is what one of our readers had to say.

Karen's pet peeves:
When someone at work boils the kettle just for themselves when they know there are 5 other people going to have tea or coffee, seriously.

When you think your are being a good Samaritan and you let a car go in front of you only to get stuck behind them at 20 kilometers an hour, really.

When your dearest friend asks you what’s going on in your life, you start telling her then your voice is faded out by her telling you what’s going on in her life.

Her small pleasures:
I love bubble wrap, I could sleep in the stuff, those tiny little air bubbles I just love popping and I’m not satisfied until the last bubble is popped.

Making the perfect lemon meringue cake what a pleasure and then only sharing half of it and getting to eat the rest all by yourself even better.

When I get home and my cat is waiting from me on the kitchen counter and nudges me for kiss and a cuddle, just purrrrrrrfect.

Alta's pet peeves:
When I answer the phone at work and the caller interrupts me before I finish my “Science Faculty good morning” – not long to wait but we have one particular person who will “hello, hello” before I even get to the Faculty part! Then my pleasure...I ignore it and to peeve them off, I carry on and then still add “Goeiemore, Molo, Sawubona and Dumela”

People stopping for a chat in the middle of the isle in a supermarket.

Finding cigarette butts in a beautiful pot plant.

When you yank a plastic bag to put fruit in and the thing does not tear where it should.

Her small pleasures:
To wake up in time to actually stop the alarm from going off in the morning.

To phone and my son answers unexpectedly when I call my daughter-in-law’s number.

Pulling in for petrol and I’m the only or first car there.

Finding the “perfect” or shady parking spot.

Buying a new type of anything (ice cream, yoghurt, biscuit) and finding the taste exactly as I envisioned.

When you yank a plastic bag to put fruit in and the thing tears where it should.
