Fix cracks in your walls

Question: The ceiling in my spare room is uneven and the wall has cracked above the door. It looks unsightly, despite being given a new coat of paint. Should I just do a superficial cover-up and hope for the best or do I need to replace the ceiling board and rope in an expert to fix the crack?

Heidi Masters from Alcolin answers: We would usually recommend crack filler to fill the crack in the wall but since the crack is in the wall AND the cornice, it makes better sense to use an acrylic sealant, such as Alcolin Acrylic Sealant, which is good for both the cornice and wall.
