The swimming pool, designed and built by Karel, is all natural. Water spouts out of a rock into a stream that flows through a gravel bed in which Nandi planted aquatic plants such as water lilies, Cyperus papyrus, Zantedeschia aethiopica and Philodendron ‘Xanadu’. This filters the water before it cascades through a series of small dams into the pool. It’s pumped back to the source by a solar-run pump. The pool serves as a 36 000L reservoir for emergency use.
