• Dulux Supergrip primer
• painter’s tape
• large store-bought frames or upcycle old ones (must be the same size)
• dado rail
• No More Nails adhesive

Project note
You can get a dado rail from a timber merchant or hardware store.
TOOLS
• paint roller and tray
• paintbrush
• spirit level
• measuring tape
• pencil
• jigsaw
Here's how...
1. On your wall, measure and mark 110cm up from the floor. Use the spirit level to mark this measurement across the entire wall.
2. Mask the line and around any plug points on the wall.
3. Use the paintbrush to cut in on edges and corners and around plug points.
4. Roll the paint on the rest of the masked area. Allow it to dry and apply a second coat. Remove the masking tape.
5. Measure the width of your wall and cut the dado rail accordingly. Prime the dado rail with Dulux Supergrip and let it dry. Now paint it with two coats of Night Jewels 1, allowing the paint to dry between layers.
6. If you bought your frames new, remove the glass, backing boards and pins. Prime the frames with Supergrip then paint them with two coats of Night Jewels 1.
Apply No More Nails to the back of the dado rail and stick it on the wall just above the painted line. If you have a join in your dado rail, apply wood filler on the join, let it dry completely, sand it smooth and touch up the paint.
7. Measure and mark where the frames should go in the painted area. Apply adhesive to the back and stick them in place. The frames should be in the middle of the skirting board and dado rail. Use the spirit level to help you stick the frames on straight.
