PARTNER CONTENT PARTNER CONTENT
With Woodoc Colours and Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR you can brighten up any dull space. Why not add some extra magic to a child’s bedroom with this playful headboard?

You will need

  • three 12mm x 96mm x 1.8m pine planks
  • one 22mm x 69mm x 1.8m pine plank
  • measuring tape
  • pencil
  • jigsaw
  • Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Matt White
  • Woodoc Colours: Pink, Orange, Yellow, Green, Opal, Blue and Full Moon
  • mixing containers
  • mixing spatulas
  • paintbrushes
  • drill with 3mm wood drill bit
  • screwdriver
  • 3.5 x 30mm chipboard screws
  • fine sandpaper

Cut all the timber into 900mm pieces; you should end up with six 12 x 96 x 900mm and two 22 x 69 x 900mm lengths.

2 Mix all the Woodoc Colours with a little Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Matt White; use about 50ml of the Water-Borne FLOOR with just a few drops of the Colours. Once the Colours are mixed through, you may add a little Full Moon if the hues are too bright to create that perfect ice cream colour.

3 Pack the six 12 x 96 x 900mm pieces out on your work surface. Paint three coats on each one in a different colour. Let the sealer dry between coats and give it a light sand with fine sandpaper after the first and second coat. Do not sand again after the last coat.

Once the last coat has dried, turn the planks over and push them right up against each other, making sure they line up at the sides. Measure and mark 120mm from the sides. Attach the remaining two planks with screws at the back on the marks you made to join the planks and create legs at the same time.
