1. Place the brandy, sugar, vanilla pod and seeds, as well as the cinnamon stick, in a small pot and bring to the boil. Remove from the heat and leave to infuse until the brandy has cooled completely. You can do this the day before and store the mixture in the fridge until needed.

2. Assemble Squeeze out the juice of one orange and cut the other one, peel and all, into slices; peel the apple and cut it into small cubes; slice the strawberries. Mix all the ingredients in jugs (leave room for ice) and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. Top up the jugs with ice and serve the sangria in your prettiest glasses.
