You will need
- 3 pieces of timber (14cm x 36cm each)
- Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Clear Matt
- Woodoc Colours: Ebony, Oak, Full Moon
- 3 mixing containers
- mixing spatulas
- paintbrushes
- stencil of your choice
- stencil sponge
- masking tape
- 3 x large cup hooks
- 3 x pieces of ribbon (±48cm each)
- 12 x upholstery pins
- hammer
- 3 x large bottles with handles (if you use a regular bottle, tie a ribbon around the neck and use this to hang it from the cup hook)
Step 1. Decant about 75ml of Woodoc Water-Borne FLOOR Clear Matt into each container. Add some of the Woodoc Colours to each respective container and stir well.
Step 2. Set the Full Moon mixture aside and seal one piece of timber with Ebony, one with Oak and one with clear. Apply 3 coats to each piece, letting each coat dry completely before applying the next. Sand lightly after the first and second coats have dried. Do not sand again after the third coat has dried.
Step 3. Position your stencil and secure it in place with masking tape. Use the Full Moon mixture and stencil sponge to stencil the pattern onto the planks. Ours bled a bit, creating a lovely batik-like effect.
Step 4. Screw the cup hooks in place.
Step 5. Attach the ribbons to the sides of the planks with the upholstery pins.
Step 6. Hang the bottles on the cup hooks then fill with water and add flowers. Now hang your vases on a rack and viola!
