Ilani and Alastair Johnstone were perfectly content in their Roodepoort home, which they purchased in 2015. It even had a sociable open stoep where they could braai and hang out. But as time passed, they began to feel that something was missing and they needed to make a few changes.

“We’re outdoorsy people,” says Ilani. And the open stoep was, well, open. “When it rained, braaiing there was out of the question.”
